Why not Vegas?

That's what I was thinking when I took off Wednesday for a qwik trip (565 miles round trip) to play tic tac toe with a chicken.Anything worth doing is worth over doing now and then, rite? exactly. After just getting back from a 18 day amble through the big sky state sin city seemed like a car crash at high speed but in slow motion.I stayed at the Fremont hotel on fremont st. with the rest of the low rent crowd who trade in all the new school flash and the I have so much ****ing money I can build anything I want as long as its the most expensive, extravagant, trend setting thing in the desert for the next 6 months atmosphere for well lets face it ,, less costly drinks and three dollar black jack tables..A number of B.town over consumers took me to the Double Down Saloon a dive bar (the best kind). That when you are inside and you've had a number of Stellas and are trying to utilise your improv sign language skills to get to know the tatoo'd big girls next to you because the band thats playing on the floor is too loud or the place is to small or someting that you feel that when you or the bartender descide that now is a good time to make your way to the nearest exit point that you'll find yourself somewhere down on Ballard ave. and thats always a good thing.Of course whats a trip to this neon filled wonderland without paying homage to the locals by feeding a hungry slot machine while sitting between two chain smoking elderly ladies or heaving your guts out after sampling the breakfast special. All I know is that once Vegas faded away in my rear view mirror and the sound of nickles and quarters clanking out of millions of loose slot machines and the assorted wistles and bells that go along with that left my tired ears somewhere just outside of Barstow I descide that I could do that all over again but not right away.

mostly Montana

It just wasn't long enough but then again it never is.Well the whole trip lasted 18 days and was a total of 3,975 miles.I can in no way sum it up but here are some pics of a few things.First is a pic of a glacier covered mountain in Glacier Natl. Park of all places.A hotel/brothel/saloon/who knows ?Was in Nevada City (it's in Montana) Was probably the place to be In the 1850s or so.I also was forturnate enough to get to see several Osprey this one very large with one youngster to look after (average wing span 54 inches) and wanted me to fish somewhere else on the river,I guess that was her fishin hole I was in.Another pic of some of the kinds of beauty in Glacier Park so many rough cut mountains on the Going to the Sun highway. One of my many camp sites featuring a new little friend of mine( Rabbit ) or at least thats what I call her.She is at this point a 10 week old Brittney who came along for her first trip to the big outside.

1,389 miles so far on this trip and its day 5 of a 18 day trip so here are some pictures of a couple of places so far.One picture of Vegas(that night ended at 6:00 am and led to some music for hangovers) a pic. of Jackson Hole Wyoming(the famous Cowboy Bar) and a pic of Old Faithful (it is old but not so faithful any more).Well next time I can get a WiFi signal I'll post more but mostly my time has been spent in a tent out in the middle of somewhere, and well not so much in the way of cell or internet connections...
